Silent Tears

“There are moments in life, when the heart is so full of emotion That if by chance it be shaken, or into its depths like a pebble Drops some careless word, it overflows, and its secret, Spilt on the ground like water, can never be gathered together” ~ Henry Wadsworth

Each day after my miscarriage, I’ve tried to deal with my emotions and feelings. I try to be strong and yet I feel so weak inside.

May 16

After two months of not updating this photoblog, I have some sad news.

I lost my baby last May 16. As mentioned in a previous post in my main blog, I was pregnant with my second baby.

Unfortunately for me and my family, I had a miscarriage after a 4 day stay in the hospital because of bleeding. It was disappointing, sad and depressing… I can’t find all the words to explain how sad I feel.

I’ve always wanted to have another child. My first daughter is six years old and I guess it’s about time to have another child.

We had plans for the baby… Plans that are now useless. I feel so sad…

This picture represents the longing I have for another baby. I don’t know… It kind of reminds me of how I cuddle up with my first daughter… This was taken in Baguio Orchidarium during my last visit there.

HDR Attempts

I’ve always wanted to try HDR ever since my brother introduced me to the world of Photomatix. I read about how to do it and thought I’d give it a try during our latest visit to Ilocos Sur.

These two pictures were taken near Playa De Oro Resort, Mindoro, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur during sunset.

High Dynamic Range Imaging is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of exposures (the range of values between light and dark areas) than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows.

Well OK, that’s how Wikipedia explains it to us hehehe.

So on with the pictures…

HDR 1

This first shot is composed of three pictures merged together using Photomatix. My mistake was, I had my ISO at 1600 I think, meaning a lot of noise. So I had to remove the noise first before merging the three images. I used the Auto Bracketing function of my camera to come up with three pictures with different exposures.

This other shot was also made using three images with different exposures.

If you ask me, I prefer the first one because of the colors. But in flickr, they seemed to like this better. It was also 2nd place in Pinoy Kodakeros’ Outstanding PinoyKodakero Award last month, January.

I hope you guys try HDR out. It’s rewarding and you can create unique images :) Good luck!
