I Still Love the S3

My Canon S3is has been acting weird today. At first I thought it was just my batteries. It would not zoom. If it did, it would turn itself off and then on. I guess it’s getting a bit jealous with the Nikon hehehe. Just kidding :)

So just to make the camera feel better, I shot a macro using it. I won’t give up on the S3is coz I love it too much. The camera ‘taught me’ many things. Now that’s a shout out.

The Baguio Botanical Garden is along Leonard Wood Road, going to Wright Park. The morning we visited the place, there were not many people so we had the park to ourselves. I remember there were many flowers there when I was a child. If you ask me, I think it has not been kept as it should be over the years (just like the other parks of Baguio). It is kinda sad to see these beautiful parks in this state and I hope the local government will take action on it ASAP.

I managed quite a number of shots but was disappointed when I reviewed the images in the computer. The pictures I took were over-saturated. I had the wrong settings! Lesson learned.

Here are some shots from the botanical garden.

The statue, named “Mother and Child” is one of the three statues in the Baguio Botanical Garden. The tablet below the statue describes how infants and young children were taken care of in the Cordilleras. Babies were carried on a sling on the back as the mother does her chores.

Starting a new day with the Nikon D80. I woke up at about 5am to wait for a sunset. I am thankful for my husband for the gift of a new camera. We bought it Henry’s on 9/21; a few days before my birthday.

Of course it is nothing short of a gem. It has many controls and functions that I am still not familiar with (but willing to learn). I have also encouraged my husband to have photography as a hobby too :)

My brother and I share the same enthusiasm for photography and I hope my sister will take photography up as well. My brother has embraced the world of glamor photography. As for me, well, I have interests both in travel and nature photography.

I love to travel but I don’t have a chance to do so most of the time. Either I don’t have money or I don’t have the time :)

I’d love to get more serious with photography. It’s a wonderful hobby. I wish to make this photoblog both a notebook to share with fellow enthusiasts as I go about learning about the Nikon D80 and a ‘gallery’ for my photos.

Wish me luck :)
